Sisustus E Kaubamaja
Tehase 16, Tartu, Estonia
Sisustus E Kaubamaja (departments store of interior goods)
The building was constructed in 1988 as the administration building of Tartu Plastmasstoodete Katsetehas (Tartu Plastic Products Experimental Factory) – the predecessor of Estiko-Plastar. For years it was known as the location of the company’s modern offices and halls as well as its rather sensational palm-garden balls of the time.
Today, the palms have doubled in size and the building that was transformed into a department store with an incredible interior back in 1994 has operated from 2002 as the department store of interior goods, the first and largest interior design centre in Southern Estonia.
