For Estiko Group, contributing to national defence is an important way to enhance Estonia’s safety. Over the years, Estiko has supported reservists by ensuring their income during training gatherings. Additionally, Estiko supports active-duty soldiers through the National Defence Promotion Foundation, awarding the best officer and non-commissioned officer prizes annually. Estiko has also contributed to supporting the Estonian Defence League and assisting Ukraine.
Estiko Group’s CEO Kristo Seli emphasised that a strong rear is essential for robust national defence. “Reserve soldiers working at Estiko can be confident that their contributions are valued here,” added Seli.
The Supporter of Public Defenders recognition, awarded for the second time this year, is intended for exemplary companies, employers, and institutions that support Estonian national defence. The competition evaluated the contributions of nearly 400 companies, with bronze-level recognition awarded to those who maintain their reserve soldiers’ salaries. Silver, gold, and special recognitions were awarded to companies that also provided other benefits or incentives to reserve soldiers in addition to salary support.
The recipients of the recognition were selected by a jury composed of representatives from the Estonian Ministry of Defence, the Estonian Defence Forces, and the Estonian Defence League. The awards were presented to companies by Estonian President Alar Karis, Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur, Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces General Martin Herem, and the Commander of the Defence League Major General Ilmar Tamm.
